A full day on the road
Plan for 9 to 10 hours of driving, plus your stops. Short stops for the toilet, food or fuel are fine. A sightseeing stop or a detour is priced by message before the trip.
Or two days, with a night in Sukhothai
Book Bangkok to Sukhothai (about 6 hours), spend the evening at the old capital, and go on to Chiang Mai the next day (4–4.5 hours) — or the other way round. Each leg has its own fixed fare. See Sukhothai Transfers — Airports, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya and Bangkok.
Flying is faster
For one or two people, a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is usually faster and cheaper. The car makes sense for families, groups and luggage — or fly, and let us meet you at the airport: see Airport.
Pickup and drop-off
In Bangkok we collect you at your hotel or address in the city, or at Suvarnabhumi Airport; in Chiang Mai the driver takes you to your hotel in the city — and the same the other way round.
